Analysis of student music videos

Cinematogrpahy
There are a variety of shot types used such as, close ups, long distance, low angle, and high angle, but the most common one is a medium close up. This shows the audience the costume of the artist or character but also their expression on their face. Therefore we will be using this shot type frequently in our music video so the audience see the different outfits used and the emotions the artist is portraying.

Mise-en-scene
The genre for this song is pop which means its current. This is represented through the artists clothing which is current, up to date and fashionable. It is also casual clothing instead of formal clothing. In our music video we will be using causal clothing and its suits our genre which is indie pop.  

Editing
There is not much focus on the editing in this video as there is a lack of techniques such as transitions, slow motion and reverse. One of the techniques they do use is a black and white filter which is used for some of the chorus'. However i do not think this filter is relevant as the song is up beat and this filter is generally used to portray a more negative motion. We will not be using the filter in our music video as it does not fit with the atmosphere.
