Music video analysis
Where are u now by Skrillex and Diplo Ft. Justin Bieber is a very unique music video as it includes a lot of animation and careful green screening. The use of effects, repetition, as well as time lapse and sped up footage work well together to create a video that relates to the song and creates an effective video. We could use the time lapse idea in our music video to emphasise on the 'time running out' idea, as well as using the green screening in a similar way to reflect the mood of the song and show the main character's thoughts and emotions.
In the same way, Beyonce's 7/11 music video uses clever editing and cinematography to reflect the mood and speed of the song. We could use this in our music video by using the same pieces of footage but editing them in all sorts of different ways e.g reversing it, changing the speed of the footage and overlapping different parts to match the beat of the music. The speed and repetition of the visuals is effective as it creates a unique video, with a lot going on at once which makes it more interesting for the audience.
