Green screen analysis

I used a green screen to create this image of me performing at a concert. From watching a tutorial video on Youtube, I was able to edit the green screen and add in a background. The process was easier than I thought as on final cut express there were fewer tools needed to edit the image. The challenge that was presented was to then edit the image, using a chroma key tool so there was no green in the background and 'the talent' had a smooth and clear outline. I found this relatively easy as I had to change the colour scale as well as editing the ink from the background of the shot.
Green screening could be used in music videos if it was proving difficult to get to a particular location, it can reduce costs and is cheaper and relatively easy to produce and edit.
If I were to use a green screen in a music video I would use it in the narrative, performance or spectacle genre. In the narrative genre the green screen would be used to show a different location. In The performance genre the green screen would be used for the band/ artist to be seen in different locations, for example a concert or garage etc. For spectacle I would use the green screen as a fun element of editing, so I would use the green screen for random locations that portray the artist in a particular way and
I would use these ideas in my future music video.
Green screen practise will benefit me as I might decide to use this in my final product as it can be a good effect to use to show the artist playing a gig or in a different area without them actually having to be there.
