So far, I think our video is coming along well. We have managed to stick to most of our storyboard and carry through all of our main ideas throughout the video, however, there have also been a few parts we have had to either re-think completely or just alter slightly. For example, there were some gaps in the video that we didn't have ideas to fill the space with. We tried out a few ideas, such as coming up with the idea that the artist was "counting down the days" until her birthday. This meant that we filmed parts of a cake being made and had candles being blown out, we then edited it with different speeds, as well as reversing it, but we then decided it didn't really work well with the genre. We decided that this came across quite childish almost, and that we needed more of an idea that represented the artist as being much older. Instead, we've used scenes of the main artist with projections in a blue light, with a white dress on, which shows a contrast in costume and lighting to a previous part of the video, where the lighting is very low and that artist is shown wearing darker colours.
Also, I've realised that when we started the project, I was expecting it to be a lot easier than it was. But, it takes so much more time and effort compared to the AS opening sequence, as precision is vital and it's important that every aspect of the video links to the genre from the song you have chosen, as well as having to make sure that you edit the video to match the rhythm of the song.
